Nxt Stp is a peer support and recovery tracking application designed to help individuals on their recovery journey. The app provides tools for daily check-ins, community connection, journaling, screening assessments, and AI-assisted support conversations.
Nxt Stp is not a medical service, clinical treatment programme, or crisis intervention tool. It is a supplementary support resource and should not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Nxt Stp. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, we encourage you to use the app with the knowledge of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult.
When you create an account, you choose a nickname and a personal access code. You are responsible for keeping your access code secure. Nxt Stp uses anonymous profiles by default — only your chosen nickname is visible to other users.
You may only create one account. If you lose access to your account, contact us through the in-app feedback feature for assistance.
You agree to use Nxt Stp in a manner that is respectful, supportive, and consistent with the app's purpose as a recovery support tool. You must not:
You retain ownership of content you post (community posts, journal entries, reflections). By sharing content publicly in the community, you grant Nxt Stp a non-exclusive licence to display that content to other users within the app.
All community posts are reviewed by an automated moderation system. Content that violates our Community Guidelines may be blocked or removed without notice.
Nxt Stp includes an AI companion called "V" that provides supportive conversation. V is powered by artificial intelligence and is not a human counsellor, therapist, or medical professional. V's responses are generated automatically and should not be treated as medical or clinical advice.
Conversations with V are not stored or retained between sessions. Each conversation starts fresh.
Nxt Stp offers validated screening assessments (AUDIT-C, DUDIT, CRAFFT, FTND, K10) as self-reflection tools. These screenings are informational only and do not constitute a diagnosis. Results should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional for proper evaluation.
The sponsor feature allows users to connect with peer mentors within the app. Sponsors are fellow community members, not licensed professionals. Nxt Stp does not verify sponsor credentials and is not responsible for advice given through sponsor connections.
Nxt Stp is a support tool, not emergency care. If you are experiencing a crisis, suicidal thoughts, or a medical emergency, please contact your local emergency services (e.g. 000, 911, 999, 112) or a crisis helpline immediately.
Nxt Stp and its creators accept no liability for outcomes arising from the use of this app, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated responses, peer support interactions, or screening tool results.
We collect only the information necessary to provide the service: your email, nickname, recovery date, country, and any content you choose to share. Your profile is anonymous by default.
Check-in data, journal entries, and screening results are stored to provide you with personal progress tracking. We do not sell your data to third parties.
For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Use or our Community Guidelines. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the platform without prior notice.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of Nxt Stp after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
If you have questions about these terms, please contact us at support@nxtstp.com.au or visit our Support page.
