Nxt Stp ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Nxt Stp mobile application ("the App").

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your display name and any profile information you choose to provide.
• Journal Entries: Content you write in your personal journal within the App.
• Chat Messages: Messages you send to V, our AI encouragement companion, and the responses generated.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used, session duration, and pillar progress.
• Subscription Information: If you purchase a premium subscription, payment processing is handled by RevenueCat and the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We do not directly collect or store your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalise the App experience
• Store your journal entries and recovery progress
• Generate AI-powered encouragement through V
• Process and manage subscriptions
• Improve the App and develop new features
• Ensure the safety and security of the App

3. AI Chat (V) and OpenAI

V, your AI encouragement companion, is powered by OpenAI's technology. When you chat with V:

• Your messages are sent to OpenAI's servers to generate responses.
• We do not use your chat data to train AI models.
• V is not a therapist, counsellor, or medical professional. V provides emotional support and encouragement only.
• In crisis situations, V will direct you to appropriate helplines such as Lifeline (13 11 14).

4. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored securely on our servers using industry-standard encryption.
• We use PostgreSQL databases with secure connections.
• We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

• OpenAI: Chat messages are processed by OpenAI to generate V's responses, subject to OpenAI's privacy policy and data processing terms.
• RevenueCat: Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat, subject to their privacy policy.
• App Stores: Apple and Google process payments for premium subscriptions under their respective privacy policies.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
